Gunnar FOUGNER: With reference to your DCEM1/5087. of the 12th instant, I regret that there has been some delay in replying thereto, but I have been
waiting to obtain a decision in the matter.

I am instructed by D/S to inform you that it has been arranged for this man to carry on with the special work which he is doing at present for the Norwegian authorities, but that he shall remain a member of N.I.C.(1). This means that should we require his services again, we have the right to recall him, but for the time being he is seconded for special duty. This being so, will you kindly return the form CE/6 referred to in the last paragraph of your letter for cancellation.
