Norman, (42-72871 5Z-A).

"On the night of March 24, 8 a/c from 856th Squadron crews, including the crews of Lt. Donald F. Heran and Lieutenant Hudson, had flown a mission to Jaevsjo, Norway, to drop ski troops.(2) After takeoff from Harrington airfield, they flew to Lossiemouth, Scotland (an RAF station), where their B-24s were refueled. The drop area was a frozen lake, completely surrounded by mountains, straddling the Norway-Sweden border northeast of Trondheim. All went well with the drop despite the fact that all of Norway looked the same at night in the winter: nothing but snow and mountains. On their way home, they refueled at Lossiemouth again, then returned to Harrington." Paginated p.133
