Ten aircraft were detailed to take part in the above operation but one a/c failed (Russel - C4) to take off owing to tecknical failure. the remaining nine aircraft found excellent weather conditions over the whole route. For the most part reception was very good and seven of the aircraft delivered their loads. The remaining two failed to get reception and brought their loads back, On return eight of the aircraft landed sucessfully at Base, the other aircraft landad at Hetfield owing to the unserviceability of navigational side. The only opposition encountered was from A-A-ships about 25 miles off the enemy coast and the fire was from light calibre guns, but none of our aircraft substained any damage. One fighter was reported in the dropping zone area by ops of the aircraft.
