Run up from RV 5942/0800E. Visually identified to first DZ. which was obscured by cloud. Went on to alternative. 1 red and 2 white lights flashing "A". Dropped close to lights on stb.side.
Route: Base - Wells - 5627/0503E - 5754/0900E - 5816/0830E - 5842/0800E - DZ - RSR - Lossiemouth.
Nor coast: 21:37 7000' 23:01 7000'.
Weather 1st DZ obscured by cloud, hill top level about 2000' thick. Clean at alternative DZ. Wind 299/23 mph.
2. TOT 22:24-22:30. 13C and 3C dropped 22:29 hrs. Target identified visually. DZ found by map reading lake on run-up and correct signals. Droppet over third light.

Weather on route: Patches of cloud at 1000'. Fine. Over DZ 7/10 cloud at 5000'. ASL vis 10 mls. A satisfactory trip, but DZ was not well situated., Ias on steep slope av A/C had to drop across lights. Lightning was good. Could not get any lower because outer engine was failing.
