*The squadron would divide itself between four drop zones, two on 'Stirrup 8', two on 'Crupper 33' and a single crew on 'Snaffle 6 and 'Crupper 44'.
Flight Lieutenant Herbert Mitchell was forced to return to Shepherds Grove when No.7 fuel tank began to leak fuel into the fuselage. Wisely, the crew turned for home, landing at 23:35 hours. Flying Officer P Keogh entered the Skagerrak Straights, to find the whole coastal region blanketed by cloud.Climbing to the dizzy height of 10,000 feet in the hope of pinpointing their position, the crew reached as far as 58/24N-08/21E before turning for home.*More successful was F/Lt N Farrell RCAF (CRUPPPER 44) , they arrived over their D Z at 01:30 hours and immediately obtained the correct signal, a flashing ' Z ' . Wasting no time, the crew dropped their cargo over two passes from 500 feet .
Equally successful was the crew of F/Lt C Plummer. They arrived over 'Stirrup 8', which was located near Hyllebu in Telemark. Arriving at 01:01 hours. The crew received a flashing ' Y ' from members of Milorg below. The crew landed back at base at 05:26 hours, they had been airborne for 7 hours 48 minutes. They reported at briefing 'It was a good trip'.
