1. SOE Flank 6. This operation was unsuccessful due to one engine beeing feathered, coused by coring, and others showing signs of coring. DZ was not reached as it was neccessary to return to base on three engine with full load aboard.

2. SOE Flank 6. F/O Bickford sucessfully dropped his load (except for three hang up) on a DZ. This was a creditable trip as goe failed on the way out after crossing the English coast, but clear skies over Norway combined with a good land fall on the coast helped the navigation conciderably.

Field state they wait in rain, but no a/c come.

"Correct delivery of Loads FLANK 8.

It is noted that on the night of December 30th a Rivenhall crew (F/O Bowman)** who could not find the Reception for which they had been briefed saw another Reception Committee and decided to drop their load. It is pointed out that unless this other Reception Committee had been given as an alternative dropping zone F/O Bowman was quite wrong to deliver his load. It is possible that some crews «do not realise the great variety of loads which have to be delivered; one load may be quite suitable for one Reception Committee but quite unsuitable for another, and, in fact may cause great embarrassment because the Reception Committee receiving an extra load may not be able to dispose of the containers before daylight. It is requested that this point may be "rubbed in" during future briefings."
