1. Stirling 287 on opr. BIT 11, captained by F/O Smith. Lightening system "C", ground letter "B". Pinpoint identified by lake partly frozn and river also lights as briefed. Dropped on lights. 22:35. 1 hang up on No.2 Station.

Weather poor over sea with low stra. 8-10/10 - 1000' to 1500'. Over Norway fine. Vis. 30 miles Wind 280/16 mph 2000'. Bomb doors worked normally only on starboard wing. Satifactory trip. Explosion seen on DZ after containers had gone.
1+2: Seven a/c were laid on to drop supplies on Oslo District of Norway, owing to a/c beeing unserviceable only 5 took off and the pilot off one, F/L Sorley was taken ioll and was forced to return GOod weather was experienced with some low cloud over sea, but excellent visibility in DZ area. 2 a/c get off track and ovserved flak over Denmark. No damage or opposition received and all returned safely.
3. Stirling 132 on opr. BIT 11 Captained by F/F Scott. No reception on BIT 11. Lightening system "C", ground letter "B" 5858N-0954E- 22:58 7000', 3 green lights fired in succession over sea., Several large vessels also seen at 2712N-0736E, 21:34 500'. going East. Øarge vessel seen floating on sea with dinghy nearby 5712N-0736E, 500', 21:34. Operation not completed, no receptiomn. DZ not located as no lights seen though thought to be in DZ area. Low cloud prevented visual check.

Weather DZ area good, but low cloud prevented ground detail beeing pocked up. Rest of trip weather fair. Delay in take-off 20 mins through 1st A/C was u/s.
