Stirling "E" on operation GIRTH III, target Norway, captained by F/LT Kidd E P C. Carrying 13 containers and 5 packages, and 3 pk leaflets. Operation completed. Target area identified on DR run from city of HAMAR by ground detail. Reception lighs seen ok, separate letter flashed well. Load dropped from 700, 120 deg, at 140 mph, dropped in one run. All chutes seen to opemn OK.

2. Captains report:

Stirling "O" on operation GIRTH III, target Norway, captained by F/Lt O'Bern. Carrying 11 containers, 7 packages and 3 pk Leaflets. Operation completed. Target area identified by by ground detail. Reception lights very good, . **** **** * * * * * * Load dropped ofrom 300 ', leading 290, and 135 mph. Dropped accicentely on the lights. 1 container chute did not open fully. The failure cause due to low drop. This was caused probably by the fact the the drop had to be made running down a hill. . One package chute opened little late develope.

Field report:
2 chutes did not open, Capt behind due to ***drop. Radio material received, next load taken by enemy.
