1. Captains report:
Halifax NF-M (Borrowed 138) took off on operation BIT VII captained by W/O Ratcliffe. Target Norway. Pinpointed TINN Lake and found reception from DR run at 01:22 hrs. 12 Containers and 1 package dropped. Pinpointed by ground features and correct reception. Correct letter was being flashed. Reception lights good, although the white seemed very small. Dropping height 600f. Heading N. Speed 145 mph.
Field report: It is reported that the first Notodden plane dropped the stuff- 2 km away, without the commitee knowing it. It was days later all O.K.
Remarks: This appears to have been an extreemely bad drop & it is fortunate the load fell into correct hands.
2. Captains report:
Halifax NF-N (Borrowed 138) Bit VII captained by F/S BENNET, Reception found without any difficulty, 12 containers were dropped at 01:36 hrs. D.R. run made from Lake Var - correct reception flashing "L" seen on e.t.a. Red lghts were very dim. Visibility was good in target area. Load dropped from 500f Heading 050° at 140 mph.
Field report: Thank you for dropping. All well.
Remarks: A good reception.
