Halifax aircraft "O" 281 took off operation GUNNERSIDE captained by S/L Gibson. Target Norway. Operation successful. Landed BASE 03:35.
Very good visibility 12 miles.
17 chutes seeen to open.

Crossed out at Cromer 19:55 hrss, 1000', and Norwegian coast in Kristiansand area 22:45 hrs. 6000'. and then went back to north and set course direct to Bjornes Fjord. Rebecca was switched on when 10 miles from reception and worked satisfactory. but we passed to the north of reception pinpoint and dropped, as requested (and previously arranged with W/C Corby) on the frozen surface of Bjornes fjord from 700' ABG, heading North, then we flew NW for about 15 miles before tuurning DE. We set course for coast and crossed out at Stapnes 00:45 hrs, 4000', Crossed English coast N of The Wash (Skegnes) 02:45 hrs, 2000'

Lakes in Norway were frozzen on high ground but open in low ground. Snow everywhere except near coast.
